Álvaro Gandarillas Alarcón
PROFESSIONAL
With a practice focused on commercial law and specific training in corporate legal advisory work, Álvaro works in Welllaw’s Legal Department on corporate transactions, mergers and acquisitions and business restructuring processes.
He combines his practice with his doctoral thesis at the University of Málaga on business restructuring mechanisms, which gives his advice a specialised perspective on refinancing and on the restructuring of companies in financial difficulty.
In addition to advising on company law and negotiating and drafting domestic and international commercial contracts, Álvaro handles the ongoing corporate housekeeping of client companies (statutory books, general meeting documents, minutes and filings with the Commercial Registry) and supports Spanish subsidiaries of international groups as they set up and grow their business in Spain.
He also advises start-ups and technology companies at every stage of their growth, from incorporation to contracts with customers and suppliers and compliance with data protection rules.
BACKGROUND
Before joining Welllaw Abogados’ Legal Department, Álvaro worked at Montero Aramburu & Gómez-Villares Atencia Abogados, advising companies and individuals on civil, commercial and tax matters, and at FGV & Asociados, as a lawyer in the Commercial Law department focusing on company law, insolvency and corporate restructuring.
